New Delhi, June 1 : Badminton Association of India (BAI) President Himanta Biswa Sarma has been designated as the executive of the Asian Para-Badminton Committee.
Sarma was enlisted into the board of trustees amid the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) Annual General Meeting at Gold Coast, Australia on May 18 on the sidelines of the Sudirman Cup. The position was before held by previous BAI boss, late Akhilesh Das Gupta.
Sarma, a bureau serve in Assam, will expect his obligations with prompt impact and will fill in as the executive of the commission for a two-year residency.
With Para-Badminton set to make its introduction in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, the advancement of Indian Para-Badminton is one of the key issues for BAI and Sarma’s arrangement will assume a gigantic part towards understanding that objective.
