Mathura/Agra, June 4 : Thousands of fans took a blessed dunk in Yamuna waterway in Mathura, Vrindavan, and Bateshwar in Agra on Sunday to observe Ganga Dussehra.
The day celebrates the appearance of the Ganges, the holiest of streams for the a huge number of Hindus, to earth from the sky above.
The day is commended with a custom shower in the waterway, and offerings of water melons and ‘kakdi’.
In Mathura and Vrindavan, sanctuaries held uncommon “darshans” of the managing god in the midst of an uproar of white blossoms and aroma.
