A press note has come our direction, giving some lucidity on the choice made to end the arrival of movies from March 1. The note is as per the following;
“The Joint Action Committee of the Southern Indian Film Industry and Digital Service Providers have met on 16-02-2017 at 11.00 a.m. in the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, Chennai to deal with the different issues relating to the Film Industry. It was chosen to meet again on 23-02-2018 (Friday) to land at a Final Conclusion. There is no adjustment in the choice of halting of Screening of the movies in all Theaters of South India from first March 2018 and remains as it may be, until the point that further notice.
This is to advise all, that South Indian Film Industry has constituted a “Joint Action Committee” to challenge the monopolistic disposition of Digital Service Providers (DSP’s) and different discourses are being held with DSP’s. In perspective of the over, every one of the Theaters (Exhibitors) administration are asked for not to recharge or go into any new concurrences with Digital Service Providers till assist correspondences from Joint Action Committee. Your co-task in such manner is requested.
